The former Pitney Bowes corporate headquarters in the South End of Stamford has sold for $38.5 million ($87/SF). The property was purchased by Building and Land Technology, a local development firm with a large presence in Stamford’s South End. The building sold vacant. BLT has previously converted the former main plant of Pitney Bowes, also in the city’s South End, into approximately 1,000 apartments, a school, and a park. However, BLT plans to renovate the building, and continue to utilize it as office space.
The office building, located at One Elmcroft Road, contains approximately 440,000 square feet of Class A office space situated on 9.26 acres of land across from Dyke Park in Stamford’s South End. The building, built in 1984, has remained vacant since Pitney Bowes left the location in late 2013.
